Janet is a painter, musician, and poet, who grew up near the shores of Lake Simcoe. She has sought the water’s edge ever since. She holds an MA in the philosophy of art, focusing on the work of Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Paul Ricoeur and the role of metaphor in art.

Janet works in oils, acrylics, and more recently, Procreate as well. Travel is an impetus. She takes photos but works from memory to create atmospheric abstracts. Her work is intuitive and process-based.

Janet did a demonstration using Procreate for DVAC members. She very generously answered our questions about materials, printing, and techniques. Thank you, Janet, for a most informative and inspiring presentation!
