Rouge Hills Nature Park Solo Plein Air Event – Sept. 28. 2020
( Submitted by Wally Lush)
A beautiful September day out painting, and avoiding onlookers as much as possible. At the far, far east end of Lawrence Avenue is a new park to me, but worth several visits. The painting was 95% completed on site with some touch ups to the tree tops and sand bars done back in the studio. Or kitchen, as some call it. I think I captured the feeling of the day and am happy with the composition and colours. I find the tree “clumps” too regular and similar and some of the values need work, like the far distant headland. Way too dark and noticeable. But, overall, I think I had a successful painting experience.
