Friday Night demonstration-Doug Purdon-Sept. 16

Doug Purdon was our first guest artist for the 2016-17 Friday night program, demonstrating to a full house of 60 members. Doug demonstrated his process for Plein Air painting gleaned from his many years of experience and expertise. We learned about his equipment, how to pack for outdoor painting, especially tips to carry light. The use of a double colour palette… 2 yellows, 2 blues, 2 reds was important, Doug maintains to create a full range of Plein Air colours. Doug shared many stories and tips on painting techniques to create successful oil paintings.

On Friday, Sept. 16 he gave a lively and informative demonstration in oil creating  a stunning landscape during the evening.
